According to the local news paper, the winter of 2013 - 2014 could be the coldest one of the last century. Some weather forecasters and people who investigate the weather changes and conditions made this long term forecast with the use of the weather model of the American National Weather Service.
If you thought that last winter was harsh, prepare yourself for the winter yet to come. According to several German and American forecasters it could be the coldest winter of the last 100 years. Reason is the meltdown of the ice , this lowers the temperature of the water which results in a lowering of the air temperature aswel. According to a Dutch forecaster it's quite unlikely that this will be the coldest one. It can be a very cold one , but these are just long term predictions.
